About FishBowl & Fishbowl Fund

FishBowl began during the 2020 pandemic with a student-created art box that went viral and sparked thousands of orders. What started as a hands-on way to teach real-world skills—budgeting, profit management, financial literacy, and reinvestment—quickly evolved into a complete youth entrepreneurship experience centered on empowerment, creativity, and belonging.

FishBowl delivers the day-to-day learning: engaging classes and workshops for TK–12 students, a practical curriculum, and real selling opportunities at community events. Since launch, FishBowl has supported hundreds of students in starting and growing their own ventures.

To ensure access for every child, Fishbowl Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, provides scholarships, supplies, and resources so no student is turned away for financial reasons. Together, FishBowl and Fishbowl Fund advance one mission: make entrepreneurship education accessible, life-changing, and fun.

What if my kid doesn’t have a business idea?

No problem at all! Many of our students start without a clear business idea, and that's perfectly okay. At Fishbowl, we help students explore their passions and interests to spark inspiration. Through fun activities, brainstorming sessions, and group discussions, we guide them to discover ideas they’re excited about. Your child will be amazed at the creative ideas they come up with when they're encouraged to think outside the box!

What if we can’t afford the program but my kid really wants to join?

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their financial situation. If the cost of the program is a concern, please reach out to us directly. We never turn down students who truly want to participate but are facing financial challenges. We’ll work with you to find a solution and ensure your child can join our program.

I’d love to bring this program into my child’s school. Can we do this?

Absolutely! We’re always excited to expand our reach and work with new schools. Bringing Fishbowl to your child’s school is a fantastic way to inspire more young entrepreneurs. Can my kid really learn at such a young age?

Yes, they can! We work with children as young as TK, tailoring our curriculum to suit their age and developmental stage. While younger kids might not cover the same material as older students, we teach them foundational concepts through art, play, and interactive activities. You'd be surprised at the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that even our youngest students display when given the opportunity!

Why is this program so beneficial for my child?

Fishbowl provides more than just entrepreneurial skills—it’s about empowerment and confidence. By guiding your child through the process of creating something from scratch, branding it, marketing it, and even selling it, they gain invaluable skills that go beyond the classroom. These experiences help them build self-confidence, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset that can benefit them in school, social situations, and beyond. What if my kid has learning disabilities? Do you work with kids who have an IEP?

Yes, absolutely! At Fishbowl, we believe that every child learns at their own pace, and we are committed to supporting all students, regardless of whether they have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). We don't believe in fitting kids into a box—instead, we celebrate each child's unique abilities and use learning disabilities as a superpower. At Fishbowl, we show students that they can achieve anything, just like anyone else, and often their unique perspectives and talents can give them a special edge in the entrepreneurial world.

We are not local to any of your in-person classes. Do you have a Zoom class?

At the moment, we do not offer Zoom classes, but we’re working hard to make this option available soon! We want to ensure that students everywhere can benefit from our program. Please subscribe to our email list, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as our online classes are ready to launch.
